I have entirely rewritten this article, with a brief general intro and a section on the situation in the CofE. At a minimum it could do with information about diocesan synods in other provinces of the Communion.

Of nothing clear about it...

This article isn't clear enough for me (sorry Skershaw) for the meaning of the words 'Diocesan synod' isn't showing.
